THE BRONZED PLASTER CASTS OF THE FIGURINE MAKERS<\/strong> of the Serchio and Lima valleys in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.<\/p>\n

A \"made in Italy \" that markets \"copies\" of the great Italian sculptors of the Renaissance.<\/p>\n

This was the topic of the CULTURAL MEETING at the GHIVIZZANO municipal branch office, organized by UNI3 University of the Third Age.<\/p>\n

The research developed by Ave Marchi with the support of the Paolo Cresci Foundation for the History of Italian Emigration, will be accompanied by the projection of images related to bronzed plaster casts production also widely represented in the Figurine Museum in Coreglia.<\/p>\n

On the online journal ALROVE the research work, carried out as a dissertation in Political Science, specialization in International Studies, discussed at the University of Pisa, by Jacopo Borrotti, a student of Prof. Serenella Pegna.<\/p>\n

For the Paolo Cresci Foundation, one of whose purposes is to further research on the history of emigration, to see that there are young people interested in doing research work on this phenomenon is an incentive to continue its mission with renewed commitment and dedication.<\/p>\n

The novel begins with the chance discovery of a letter that sheds new light on the disappearance of his grandfather, believed to have died at the front during World War II. Thus begins the search for the truth that will lead the protagonist to discover the true cause of death: the sinking of the ARANDORA STAR<\/strong>, a ship loaded with Italian internees torpedoed by the Germans on July 2, 1940. 446 Italian civilians drowned, including many Garfagnana people who had emigrated to the United Kingdom, innocent victims of suspicion and xenophobia<\/p>\n
